As with Fashion for the body, fashion for the home is constantly evolving and changing. To provide our homeowners with the best products available, it’s important for builders to aware of the trends and new products that surface every year. More importantly, it is essential to listen to what each homeowner wants and understand what they need to truly make their new house a home.
An incredible amount of time and hard work goes into determining the products and options that will be available in our Design Center each year. From online research to attending home shows and meeting with subcontractors to reviewing each homebuyer survey.
Buyer trends change rapidly and as hard as we try to stay ahead of them, each buyer is unique and occasionally, a request is made that we’re not prepared to meet. It happens to all of us. What’s important is how we react to it.
In June of this year, a new buyer we were working with requested a tile glass backsplash for their new kitchen during their Selections Meeting. Unfortunately, StyleCraft did not have an affordable product available to match what they were looking for. We settled on an alternative treatment, but it was clear there was disappointment in our inability to provide the option they were looking for.
The incident inspired some additional research and within a short period of time, StyleCraft was able to incorporate a reasonably priced great looking glass tile backsplash into our set of options. We immediately placed a call to the our buyers to invite them back to our Design Center to take a look at the new option. They loved it and we quickly revised their selections to include it in their new home.
Not only did this improve the family’s home buying experience and save them the hassle of getting what they wanted installed at a later time, it also benefited three other homebuyers who chose the new option within the first two weeks of it being offered.
At StyleCraft, we take our homeowner’s feedback very seriously. And we’ll continue to work hard to ensure the selections options we offer in our Design Center meet a variety of tastes and preferences, from trendy to traditional.
