Let’s Do It Again! St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway Kick-Off

It’s the season of giving. And it couldn’t be a more appropriate time to kick off our second year of leading the charge for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway for the Greater Richmond area.

We were able to wrap a big bow around year one, raising $860,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital — thanks to the help of everyone who made a donation, volunteered, and reserved a ticket.

And now, in year two, we need to create that same excitement and momentum to bring hope to those who need it most. On that note, let’s run down where we are in the 2019 St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway…

BRICKS AND STICKS KICK-OFF

The well-coordinated effort required to make the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway a success kicks off with our Bricks and Sticks event, where we gather with key venders and trade partners to discuss the “Dream Home” details. This year’s home will be an exquisite 3,600 sq. ft. Van Buren floor plan, featuring four bedrooms, a finished basement, and an estimated value of $480,000. The “Dream Home” is in Cambria Cove, a community ideally located on the waterfront by the picturesque Swift Creek Reservoir. During this Bricks and Sticks event, partners and vendors also make pledges as to the time, effort, and materials they can so generously donate to the cause — with our ultimate goal being to build the “Dream Home” at a net zero cost.

DIGGING IN

In early December, StyleCraft employees, trade partners, and vendors joined St. Jude representatives and the family of a patient to grab shovels and break ground on our “Dream Home” homesite. And for the second year in a row, our ceremony was met with a flurry of snow. We’ll take it as a sign of good luck!
