St. Jude Dream Home Update: Hitting The Home Stretch

The finish line for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is in sight. And that means the beginning of a life-changing adventure is quickly approaching for the lucky family with the winning ticket. Our dedicated trade partners are working hard to check the final boxes. And before you know it, we’ll be conducting final inspections and staging furniture.

Here’s a quick rundown of all we accomplished in April and a look ahead at the construction schedule for the remainder of May.

MAKING PROGRESS, INSIDE & OUTSIDE

It’s a lot easier to see around the “Dream Home” these days after C.R. Phillips installed light fixtures provided on the house by Progress Lighting. And with cabinetry installed in the kitchen, bath, and bar area — donated 100% by REICO Kitchen & Bath — these spaces are really coming together.

Dedicated trade partners also installed countertops, carpet, hardwood floors, and exterior railings — ensuring each piece of the home Lives Up beyond compare. And before we consider the job done, our Quality Assurance Manager will perform a final, meticulous sweep-through to ensure all aspects of the home measure up to StyleCraft’s signature craftsmanship.

Outside the “Dream Home,” the driveway, sidewalk, and patio are block party-ready — courtesy of Lakeside Concrete, which prepped and poured it (and covered the entirety of the labor and materials). And thanks to a garage door donated by Amelia Overhead Door, the vehicles will Live Up, too.

Next up: Furniture installation! Thanks to the vision of Maureen Magula with Creative Group Interiors, this home will come to life with furniture and decor.

IMPORTANT TICKET UPDATES

We have worked hard (and safe) to keep the ‘Dream Home’ construction on schedule. That said, out of an abundance of caution — and with everyone’s well-being in mind — we are bumping the “giveaway” part of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway until August 20, 2020. Not to worry, sponsor NBC12 will still be airing the drawing live. Just think of it as stretching out the anticipation of the big drawing a bit more. Meanwhile, we join St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in sending our thoughts, and positivity to all families across the world impacted by COVID-19. As we get closer, we’ll be announcing dates for key Dream Home events in Saunders Station Townes, so stay tuned to our Facebook & NBC12 for more information!
