St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway Update: Building a Strong Foundation

It seems like just yesterday we were sharing the news that we broke ground on the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway House at the Landing at Swift Creek.

But more than a month has passed since the ceremonial shovels hit the dirt in early December, and now we’re digging in and making real progress on the home.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE FROM THE GROUND UP

First off, we built a strong foundation for this special home, which included completing the critical backfilling and damp-proofing steps.

Of course, before this could even happen, we were fortunate to receive generous donations of materials and time from our dedicated partners. One of the goals of the St. Jude Home Giveaway is to build a great home at a net zero cost, so that all the funds go toward the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the life-saving work that they do.

ONWARD & UPWARD

But wait, there’s more. We’ve now gone vertical with our 3,100-plus-square-foot Madison floorplan, having framed the house and begun the roofing. It’s really starting to look like a home!

The dream is coming together quickly thanks to everyone’s hard and diligent work, and it won’t be long before we’ll be able to share a sneak peek of the home’s inviting exterior and interior spaces. Here’s one final look at where we sit today, shared in time-lapse video…
