Celebrating in Style: StyleCraft’s 25th Anniversary Party

May 29, 2024

On May 16, the StyleCraft team, Trade Partners, Henrico County officials, and other members of the community gathered to celebrate a milestone 25 years in the making.

Not only did we look back on a quarter century of helping those in Central Virginia and beyond Live Up, but we also looked toward the future. This was highlighted by the ribbon cutting and Grand Opening of our new Corporate Headquarters — a 10,000-sq-ft. addition that now relocates our Design Studio into our expansive Lakeside campus.

REVISITING OUR FOUNDING PRINCIPLES

It’s an understatement to suggest that a lot has happened in the past 25 years at StyleCraft. And to set the stage for the 25-year celebration, Vice President of Homebuilding Jeremy Knicely delivered an eloquent and succinct snapshot of our history leading up to this milestone — rightfully focusing his remarks on Richard and the Dale Kuhn, StyleCraft’s father-and-son co-founders

“Tragically, in December 2006, the industry lost Dale Kuhn way too early, leaving behind a void that seemed insurmountable,” Knicely said. “It was during this challenging period that a young Richard stepped forward to lead StyleCraft Homes into the future. Armed with determination, resilience, and a deep-rooted commitment to his father's legacy, Richard navigated the turbulent waters of the homebuilding industry as it faced unprecedented challenges.”

It’s a history told in both stories rooted in core values and numbers that measure StyleCraft’s continued growth and evolution.

“As a developer, we develop nearly 60% of all lots that we build on,” Knicely said. “We are the property manager for 10 communities. And this November, 25 years after closing our 1st home, we will close our 3500th. This achievement is a testament to Richard's unwavering dedication, his commitment to quality, and his relentless pursuit of excellence.”

In addition to being family-owned — and cultivating a workforce that feels like family — StyleCraft has always been a company that thinks and acts locally while spreading its roots throughout Greater Richmond. This was evident in the neighboring businesses that helped make this memorable night happen, including Mosaic Catering & Events, Classic Party Rentals, and Bubbly Event Co. We’re grateful for having such amazing businesses right in our big back yard.

BUILDING RECOGNITION

The theme of being locally focused was also evident during a ceremony at the event performed by the Henrico Economic Development Authority. Ebony Atkins, Managing Director of Henrico EDA, alongside Henrico County Manager John Vithoulk, officially welcomed StyleCraft into Henrico’s Legacy Program, which honors businesses that have served Henrico and the Greater Richmond area for 25-plus years.

A UNIFYING EXPANSION

Not lost in an evening of both looking back and looking forward is the unifying impact that the new Corporate Headquarters and Design Studio will have on StyleCraft’s team, Trade Partners, and homebuyers. The ribbon cutting ceremony new facility tours quickly made it evident how seamlessly the new homebase would allow all to collaborate and execute operations day in and day out.

Just because the party is over, it doesn’t mean the celebration has ended. Look out for new and novel ways we’ll continue to mark this important milestone on social media, throughout our communities, and within our Corporate Headquarters.
